Dr. Ricardo Bonnor
M.D. General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

Ricardo M. Bonnor, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a native of Argentina who speaks multiple languages including Spanish and Portuguese. He received his Master of Science Degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. He then proceeded to Medical School at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating in 1999 with the highest honors. His Surgical Residency was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas Texas. He went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and currently serves as the Director Of Bariatric Surgery at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.

Dr. Bonnor has specialized training in the laparoscopic treatment of colon cancer, reflux disease, achalasia, hernias, disorders of the spleen, pancreas, adrenal gland and bariatric surgery. He has authored several prominent medical articles, including one on laparoscopic treatment of colon cancer and a book chapter on laparoscopic management of biliary tract disease. He is an instructor at Baylor and other Educational Institutions as well as Internationally for Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair. Recently, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Bonnor feels that the future of surgery will continue to focus on minimally invasive procedures. He states, "The benefits of smaller incisions, resulting in less post-operative pain and recovery time has been well documented in many areas of surgical endeavors. I’m glad to offer my patients this advanced technique."
